Bryant Air Conditioner Reviews 2021
1. Bryant Legacy 2 Ton Air Conditioner
Cooling Performance
With a rated cooling capacity of 24,000 Btu/h, this single stage central air conditioning unit utilise a Microtube Technology™ refrigeration system.
When considering purchasing a unit of this type, we highly recommend hiring a specialist to assess your home, prior to installation. This will ensure that the unit you purchase will be suitable to your unique living environment.
Efficiency / Certifications
Lacking an Energy Star certification, this Bryant unit is UL-Listed. Therefore, you can rest assured that this product will not negatively affect the air you breathe.
With an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11-12, and a SEER score of 14, this model is very efficient. This being said, it is difficult to estimate the efficiency of central AC units, as they are affected by seasonal change, location, and several other factors. Simply put, the more it is used, the more it will cost to sustain.
Convenience
Supporting Housewise™, this unit is controllable from your smartphone, or alternatively you can opt for a conventional thermostat.
With a decibel rating of 76dBA, as far as central air conditioning systems are concerned, this is a relatively quiet unit. This is a significant attribute for those considering installation of this unit in a suburban setting.
Design
The Bryant 2 Ton Air conditioner comes in a galvanised steel casing, with a baked-on power paint coating. This essentially makes the unit immune to corrosion or rusting. As alluded to in the title, the tonnage rating of this model stands at 2 tons.
The Legacy line does not necessarily require a certified Bryant dealer for installation, however we highly recommend that you hire one. Should you opt for a alternate contractor, be doubly sure that they are competent, and experienced. A botched central AC installation will unfortunately cost you to remedy.
Help & Support
The Bryant Legacy line is backed by a 10-year limited parts warranty. Be warned however; failure to register your product within 90 days of original purchase will result in the warranty effectively being cut in half down to 5-year warranty.
If you have any queries regarding Bryant warranty policy, we strongly recommend that you contact the company.
Bryant maintain a useful FAQ section on their website, as well as a detailed ‘Contact Us’ section. Downloadable user manuals and a troubleshooter page is also present on the company website.
With a company like Bryant, customers also benefit from a vast network of Bryant dealers.
Verdict
To sum the Bryant 2 Ton Air Conditioner up, this is a reliable, robustly built unit. We have to hand it to Bryant, that this unit simply works. No flashing lights or gadgetry, but rather a durable home central AC that will get the job done.
We recommend that our readers conduct further research into this product before purchase, to ensure that it is suitable for their living circumstances.
2. Bryant Legacy 3 Ton Air Conditioner
Cooling Performance
One rung up the ladder from the Legacy 2, is the Legacy 3. Packing a punch, the Bryant Legacy 3 Ton Air Conditioner boasts a powerful rated cooling capacity of 36,000 Btu/h. A single stage unit, this model functions on a Microtube Technology™ refrigeration system.
Once again, before installation of this product, it is vital that you hire a specialist to assess your unique home, so that they may give you their recommendation of what unit would be most suitable for you.
Efficiency / Certifications
This unit does not avail of an Energy Star Certification, however it is UL-Listed. Scoring an Energy Efficiency Ratio of 11.5-13, and a SEER rating of 14, this is an efficient unit.
As stated above in our Legacy 2 review, due to the nature of these units, it is difficult to estimate how efficient a Bryant central AC will be in your home. This is due to varying locations, and seasonal changes.
Convenience
Supporting Housewise™, this unit is controllable through your smartphone via Wi-Fi. Otherwise, a traditional thermostat is also available.
Boasting a noise level of 77dBA, the Legacy 3 can be considered very quiet for a unit of its size.
Provided your specialist has informed you that this unit would be a suitable choice for you, we certainly recommend the Legacy 3 as a functional AC system.
Design
An improvement upon the Legacy 2’s physical structure, the Legacy 3 is encased in a solid, durable sheet metal construction. Similar to the other units in this line, Bryant have designed the Legacy 3 to be resilient, with an additional wire coil guard inside the unit. Defending the unit from rust and corrosion, is a baked-on powder paint full outer covering.
With a tonnage of 3 tons, we recommend that you have a certified Bryant dealer install this unit. However, this is not necessarily a requirement. Should you decide to go with an alternate contractor, for your own sake ensure that they are both competent and experienced.
Help & Support
Bryant’s legacy line all benefit from the same online customer support infrastructure. This includes the resources mentioned above in the Legacy 2’s segment of this review, under the Help & Support subheading.
This unit shares the same warranty as the Legacy 2. We must stress the importance of registering your product within the first 90 days of purchase, or your 10-year warranty will be cut to 5-years.
Verdict
Continuing on from the Legacy 2, we can testify that this unit is durable, reliable, and powerful. This is another unit that will simply get the job done.
As is usually the case with models like this, we recommend that you refrain from purchasing this unit until you have had a specialist assess your living environment, and agree that this would be a suitable choice for you.
3. Bryant Legacy 4 Ton Air Conditioner
Cooling Performance
Continuing up the ladder of the Legacy line is the Bryant Legacy 4 Ton central air conditioner. With a cooling capacity of 48,000 Btu/h, this unit functions on a single stage system, utilising a Microtube Technology™ refrigeration system.
If you are considering a unit of this type, we strongly advise consulting a specialist, for they will be able to recommend to you which air conditioning unit is most suitable for your circumstances.
Efficiency / Certifications
UL-Listed, you can rest assured that the air you breathe is not negatively affected by this unit. This being said, unfortunately, the Bryant Legacy 4 ton central air conditioner lacks an Energy Star certification.
Scoring an Energy Efficiency Ratio of 11.5-12.5, and a SEER of 14, this unit seems to be quite efficient, regardless of lacking the Energy Star stamp of approval.
However, it is difficult to estimate the efficiency of central AC units, as their effectiveness are influenced by many factors, including but not limited to; seasonal weather changes, location, size of building.
Convenience
As this unit, similar to its predecessors in the line, supports Housewise™, the buyer has the ability to control their AC via Wi-Fi, through their smartphone. Alternatively, a conventional thermostat is also an option.
Registering a decibel rating of 79dBA, the Legacy 4 is actually reasonably quiet for its size. While slightly louder than its predecessor, it is much more powerful, so the slight increase in noise level may be perceived as a proportional improvement.
Design
Encased in a solid, durable sheet metal construction, the Legacy 4 is a durable unit. A dense wire coil guard is optional with this unit, although the third phase release of these units come with it as standard. Furthering fortifying this unit is a baked-on powder paint complete outer covering, which prevents the unit from rusting or corroding.
We recommend that you hire a certified Bryant dealer to install this 4-ton unit, although you are not required to do so. As always, should you opt for an alternative contractor during installation of this unit, make doubly sure they are both an experienced and competent contractor. Improper installation will likely result in you having to pay more to solve the problem.
Help & Support
Bryant supplies an impressive online customer support infrastructure for their clients. With downloadable user manuals, a troubleshooter, an extensive FAQs section, and a ‘Contact Us’ page all on Bryant’s website, the buyer is supported through any issues they may be experiencing with their product.
This product, like the rest of the Bryant Legacy line, is backed by a 10-year limited warranty, which is cut to 5-years upon failure of the buyer to register their product within the first 90 days of purchase.
An added perk to buying from Bryant is their vast network of dealers, experienced in working with Bryant products. This is useful if you run into any issues with your product.
Verdict
This unit packs a hell of a punch. Providing a decent amount of cooling power, and remaining relatively quiet while doing so, the Bryant 4 Ton Air Conditioner is an impressive feat of engineering. We would definitely recommend this unit if it is suitable to your living circumstances.
4. Bryant Legacy 5 Ton Air Conditioner
Cooling Performance
Providing a whopping 60,000 Btu/h of cooling power, this is the peak of the Legacy line that we have reviewed. In principle, this unit is the same as the others in that it functions based on the same technologies, the only real difference being its size and far greater power.
Functioning on a Microtube Technology™ refrigeration system, this single stage unit is capable of cooling very large spaces.
We would strongly recommend consulting a specialist if you are considering this unit, as this much power may not be necessary to cool your home, and you may end up paying more than you should have.
Efficiency / Certifications
Being UL-Listed, you may set your mind at ease while this beast operates, assured in the knowledge that the air you breathe has not been negatively affected. Unfortunately, this product does not enjoy an Energy Star Certification.
Scoring a very impressive Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 12-13.5, and a SEER of 16, it can safely be said that this is a very efficient model.
Once again it must be said that it is difficult to estimate the efficiency of home central air conditioners. This is due to the many factors that influence the effectiveness of said units. Influences such as seasonal weather changes, location, house size etc.
Convenience
Unlike the other Legacy generators, this unit does not support Housewise™, instead this unit may be hooked up to Themidistat™ for enhanced convenience.
With a decibel rating of 78dBA, this unit is remarkably quiet for its size and power.
Design
This unit is protected by a solid, durable sheet metal construction, with a baked-on complete outer covering of powder paint, preventing corrosion and rust.
Weighing a whopping 5 tons, we recommend that you contact an experienced Bryant dealer to oversee the installation of this unit. Alternatively, if hiring a non-Bryant dealer, ensure that the contractor you hire is competent and experienced.
Help & Support
Just as the rest of the Bryant series, the Legacy 5 benefits from an impressive online customer service interface. Features available to the user on the Bryant website include a detailed FAQs section, downloadable user manuals, a troubleshooter, and a ‘Contact Us’ page.
This unit is backed by the same 10-year warranty as the rest of the line, which suffers the same consequence of being cut to a 5-year warranty, upon the customers failure to register their product within the first 90 days following purchase.
Verdict
If you’re in the market for a large, very powerful air conditioner, then this one may be just the one for you. However, before purchasing a unit of this strength and size, we recommend you contact a specialist and have them assess your home in order to discern whether a purchase of this unit would be necessary. Purchasing a unit that is too powerful for your home is going to drain an unnecessary amount of energy, and cost you far more money.
Bryant Air Conditioners Review – Final Verdict
All factors considered, Bryant have proven themselves as a brand of reliability and high performance. We would recommend these units to anyone considering them.
However, as always we must urge our readers to conduct their own additional research before making a purchase of this size.
